DETAILS:
We are seeking a Full-time Teacher to join our team in enriching the quality of life for youth. Enhancing their educational journey through DESE approved curriculum and utilizing the Teaching Family Model to gain needed life skills.
Salary and Benefits:
$32,000 - $39,000 annual;
Medical Insurance for each;
401(k) retirement plan with employer match up to 1%;
15 Personal Time Off (PTO) days, can be used for personal, vacation or sick days. (accrued time available for use after 90 days);
Teaching Family Model training provided with the opportunity to obtain Teaching Family Model Professional Certification.

PURPOSE:
To be responsible for providing direct instruction to students and maintain an environment conducive to learning. Facilitate educational programs to fulfill students’ academic needs alongside strategies to meet their social and emotional needs . (S)he will assist in supporting the socialization and treatment goals in the treatment plan for each child. Teachers are eligible to receive benefits that include health insurance, retirement plan, paid personal time off days for vacation, holidays, or personal leave.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Teachers receive direction from and are directly accountable to the Educational Program Director.
ESSENTIAL TASKS:

Create a school climate of respect and trust with students
Build and maintain trusting and respectful relationships with students
Provide high quality instruction to students
Create and implement a classroom disciplinary plan, following Teaching Family Method (training will be provided)
Create lesson plans and activities to implement social and emotional learning along with life skills instruction
Participate in professional development activities
Participate in building grade level and subject area committees and meetings
Maintain accurate student records including attendance, grades, and discipline; academic and behavior data
Complete and submit forms and required reports in a timely manner
Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress and other educational concerns
Participate as a member of an IEP team, 504 team or other student assistance teams as requested
Facilitate student-parent-teacher conferences regularly regarding student progress and other educational concerns
Implement special education plans such as 504 plans, individual educational programs and individual health plans
Report suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination and harassment as directed by Board Policy
Prepare lesson plans for use by a substitute teacher
Revise curriculum annually according to Hope Ranch curriculum model
Subject area teachers may have additional duties and responsibilities
Serve as an advocate for the school to the public and state lawmakers
Attend student activities and events outside the academic day
Responsible for student supervision and student discipline
Participate in a performance evaluation at least semiannual
Provide reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job
Supervise students at all times
Any other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Must hold valid Missouri Teaching Certificate
Must hold Bachelor’s Degree in Education
Be able to pass extensive background checks
Be able to pass a physical and drug screen
Successfully complete TFM training (training is provided)
Must be dependable regarding work schedule and punctuality.
Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to maintain objectivity, fairness, and consistency.
Assertive, flexible, team-oriented, and able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
Empathy for the goals and practices of a childcare agency.
Must hold a valid driver’s license and be able to be insurable by Hope Ranch of Missouri’s insurance carrier.
Ability to become CPI certified (training provided) and efficient in the use of Teaching Family Model.
Have sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of Hope Ranch of Missouri’s youth.
Experience working with adolescents is preferred but not required.
